1960's Danish Poul Hundevad folding footstool in oak and leather seat.
Poul Hundevads footstool was an almost exact copy of of the almost intact 3500 years old "Guldhøj" footstool that was found during an excavation in 1891 and is considered to be the only fully preserved European bronze age chair.
The footstool is in good condition and has been checked and refinished by our cabinetmaker without removing the patina from many years of use that gives the footstool a unique character. The original leathered seat was too damaged why it has been replaced with a new handcrafted piece of leather and part of the original label under the original seat telling the chairs history has been saved and will follow the footstool.
