Kristian Illum Wikkelsø was a Danish furniture designer, who belonged to the generation of Danish designers that made Danish Design a world brand during the 1950's and 1960's. He was a carpenter apprentice until 1938 and then was admitted at the Art Works School in Copenhagen, from where he graduated 1941. After years as an employee at first Jacob Kjær and then the partners Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard, he established his own business in 1954. Many of his pieces have become classical designer object, among the widest known are his rocking chair and his easy chair model V11.
An important partner was C. F. Christensen, Silkeborg, for whom he designed the PLexus series and other light comfort chairs.
